The <jats:italic>I<\/jats:italic>\/<jats:italic>T<\/jats:italic> characteristics measured in fibers with 7\u201315\u2009\u00b5m diameter and 1\u2009mm length show a semiconductor behavior; their thermal activation energy is 0.5\u2009eV and the dark conductivity at RT is 5\u2009\u00d7\u200910<jats:sup>\u22129<\/jats:sup> (\u03a9\u2009cm)<jats:sup>\u22121<\/jats:sup>. Besides exhibiting a photosensitivity of about 60 under white light illumination with a light power intensity of 25\u2009mW\u2009\u00b7\u2009cm<jats:sup>\u22122<\/jats:sup>, the fibers also attain RT photoluminescence in the cyan, yellow, and red wavelength range under ultraviolet, blue, and green light excitation, respectively.
