The dispersion of the nanoclay into the polymer matrix and its eventual compatibilization effect were investigated by collecting samples along the barrel and characterizing them by X\u2010ray diffraction (XRD), oscillatory rheometry, scanning and transmission microscopy (SEM and TEM). Chemical and morphological changes occurred mostly during polymer melting. The morphologies of the nanocomposite and of the compatibilized blends were much finer than that of the physical blend.
