Solar cells with 10\u2009nm of MoO<jats:sub>3<\/jats:sub> between Mo rear contact and CZTSe had larger minority carrier life time and open\u2010circuit voltage compared to the reference solar cells. Temperature dependent current density\u2013voltage measurement indicated that the activation energy (<jats:italic>E<\/jats:italic><jats:sub>A<\/jats:sub>) of the main recombination is higher (\u223c\u2009837 meV) in solar cells with MoO<jats:sub>3<\/jats:sub> layer, as compared to conventional solar cells where <jats:italic>E<\/jats:italic><jats:sub>A<\/jats:sub>\u2009\u223c\u2009770\u2009meV, indicating reduced interface recombination.
