Our results for the spin wave dispersion, <jats:italic>\u03c9<\/jats:italic> (<jats:bold><jats:italic>q<\/jats:italic><\/jats:bold>), are compared with high\u2010resolution inelastic neutron scattering performed on La<jats:sub>2<\/jats:sub>CuO<jats:sub>4<\/jats:sub>. The effects of different band structures and different values of the on\u2010site Coulomb interaction on the spin wave spectrum are studied.
