The CeO<jats:sub>2<\/jats:sub>, Ce<jats:sub>0.95<\/jats:sub>Ru<jats:sub>0.05<\/jats:sub>O<jats:sub>2<\/jats:sub> and Ce<jats:sub>0.95<\/jats:sub>In<jats:sub>0.05<\/jats:sub>O<jats:sub>2<\/jats:sub> thin films were prepared by means of the RF sputtering process onto Si (111) substrates. The deposition conditions were carried out at 500\u2009\u00b0C varying the deposition time. Targets were prepared via sol\u2013gel process starting from C<jats:sub>6<\/jats:sub>H<jats:sub>9<\/jats:sub>O<jats:sub>6<\/jats:sub>In, Ru<jats:sub>3<\/jats:sub>(CO)<jats:sub>12<\/jats:sub> and Ce(C<jats:sub>2<\/jats:sub>H<jats:sub>3<\/jats:sub>O<jats:sub>2<\/jats:sub>)<jats:sub>3<\/jats:sub>\u2009\u00b7\u20091.5H<jats:sub>2<\/jats:sub>O compounds and using a ceramic method to consolidate them. The samples were characterized by means of XRD, SEM, and AFM. Their thickness was measured using a profilometer.
