Status Solidi C"],"published-print":{"date-parts":[[2012,5]]},"abstract":"<jats:title>Abstract<\/jats:title><jats:p>The copper bisdithiolene complexes based on highly extended ligands incorporating fused TTF and thiophene moieties (\u03b1\u2010tdt = tiophenetetrathiafulvalenedithiolate and dtdt = dihydro\u2010thiophenetetrathiafulvalenedithiolate), were prepared and characterised by cyclic voltammetry and electrical transport measurements. The anionic complexes, (nBu4N)<jats:sub>x<\/jats:sub>[Cu(dtdt)<jats:sub>2<\/jats:sub>] (<jats:bold>1<\/jats:bold>) and (nBu4N)<jats:sub>x<\/jats:sub>[Cu(\u03b1\u2010tdt)<jats:sub>2<\/jats:sub>] (<jats:bold>2<\/jats:bold>), (1&lt;x&lt;2), obtained under anaerobic conditions, can be easily oxidised to the stable neutral state, [Cu(dtdt)<jats:sub>2<\/jats:sub>]<jats:sup>0<\/jats:sup> (<jats:bold>3<\/jats:bold>) and [Cu(\u03b1\u2010tdt)<jats:sub>2<\/jats:sub>]<jats:sup>0<\/jats:sup> (<jats:bold>4<\/jats:bold>), just by air or iodine exposure. Although no suitable single crystals of the neutral complexes could be obtained, room temperature conductivities measured in compressed powder pellets show values of <jats:italic>\u03c3<jats:sub>RT<\/jats:sub><\/jats:italic> in the range of 0.10\u20100.40 S\/cm, a reasonable high electrical conductivity, for a powder compacted sample (\u00a9 2012 WILEY\u2010VCH Verlag GmbH &amp; Co.
