Both nanocomposites displayed ORR and OER electrocatalytic activity in alkaline medium. For ORR, onset potentials of 0.79\u2005V and 0.82\u2005V vs. RHE were achieved for Co\n                    <jats:sub>3<\/jats:sub>\n                    O\n                    <jats:sub>4<\/jats:sub>\n                    @GF_ KMnO\n                    <jats:sub>4<\/jats:sub>\n                    and Co\n                    <jats:sub>3<\/jats:sub>\n                    O\n                    <jats:sub>4<\/jats:sub>\n                    @GF_O\n                    <jats:sub>3<\/jats:sub>\n                    , respectively. Both nanocomposites presented excellent tolerance to methanol and, in the case of Co\n                    <jats:sub>3<\/jats:sub>\n                    O\n                    <jats:sub>4<\/jats:sub>\n                    @GF_O\n                    <jats:sub>3<\/jats:sub>\n                    , a superior long\u2010term stability with a current retention of 96.8% after 20 000\u2005s. For OER, the overpotential was 0.44 and 0.45\u2005V for Co\n                    <jats:sub>3<\/jats:sub>\n                    O\n                    <jats:sub>4<\/jats:sub>\n                    @GF_KMnO\n                    <jats:sub>4<\/jats:sub>\n                    and Co\n                    <jats:sub>3<\/jats:sub>\n                    O\n                    <jats:sub>4<\/jats:sub>\n                    @GF_O\n                    <jats:sub>3<\/jats:sub>\n                    , respectively. Additionally, Co\n                    <jats:sub>3<\/jats:sub>\n                    O\n                    <jats:sub>4<\/jats:sub>\n                    @GF_O\n                    <jats:sub>3<\/jats:sub>\n                    presented higher current densities, Faradaic efficiencies, and long\u2010term stability (current loss of 32% after 15 000\u2005s).
