The efficiency of ZBO photocatalyst for the decolorization of Rhodamine B (RhB) is found to be optimum at x=0.1. The Zn\n                    <jats:sub>0.9<\/jats:sub>\n                    Ba\n                    <jats:sub>0.1<\/jats:sub>\n                    O film exhibits an efficiency of\n                    <jats:inline-graphic xmlns:xlink=\"http:\/\/www.w3.org\/1999\/xlink\" xlink:href=\"graphic\/slct201904943-math-0001.png\" xlink:title=\"urn:x-wiley:23656549:media:slct201904943:slct201904943-math-0001\"\/>\n                    96% at an irradiation time of 60\u2005min. The high photocatalytic activity of Ba doped ZnO films is attributed to the high efficient generation and separation of photo\u2010induced charge carriers as evident from photocurrent measurements. Further, the texture and the oxygen vacancies favor the photocatalytic activity as suggested by the x\u2010ray diffraction (XRD), scanning electron microscope (SEM), x\u2010ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS), Raman spectroscopy and photoluminescence (PL) analysis. Moreover, the reusability test reveals that the photocatalyst performance remains for at least six consecutive cycles without significant change.
