The crystal structure shows that butterfly\u2010shaped {MoS<jats:sub>4<\/jats:sub>Cu<jats:sub>2<\/jats:sub>S<jats:sub>2<\/jats:sub>} fragments are connected via \u03bc<jats:sub>3<\/jats:sub>\u2010S atoms to form a cage\u2010like structure, [Mo<jats:sub>3<\/jats:sub>Cu<jats:sub>6<\/jats:sub>S<jats:sub>14<\/jats:sub>]<jats:sup>4\u2013<\/jats:sup>.
