This includes challenges like basic communication to convey their emotions to comprehension in early education. To aid with their early development, we propose Furekit, a wearable toolkit that encourages physical interaction via audio and tactile stimuli. Furekit can be attached to various parts of the body, can be operated wirelessly, and is equipped with both a speaker and a vibrotactile actuator. The audio and tactile stimuli are triggered when touched via a conductive pad on the surface, aiming to aid these children\u2019s learning and social experience. From our conducted workshop with children with ASD, we found that Furekit was well-received and was able to encourage their spontaneous physical movement. In the workshop, Furekit shows its potential as an educational and communication tool for children with ASD.<\/jats:p>","DOI":"10.1007\/978-3-031-06249-0_35","type":"book-chapter","created":{"date-parts":[[2022,5,19]],"date-time":"2022-05-19T16:05:38Z","timestamp":1652976338000},"page":"310-318","update-policy":"https:\/\/doi.org\/10.1007\/springer_crossmark_policy","source":"Crossref","is-referenced-by-count":3,"title":["Furekit: Wearable Tactile Music Toolkit for Children with ASD"],"prefix":"10.1007","author":[{"given":"Di","family":"Qi","sequence":"first","affiliation":[],"role":[{"role":"author","vocabulary":"crossref"}]},{"given":"Mina","family":"Shibasaki","sequence":"additional","affiliation":[],"role":[{"role":"author","vocabulary":"crossref"}]},{"given":"Youichi","family":"Kamiyama","sequence":"additional","affiliation":[],"role":[{"role":"author","vocabulary":"crossref"}]},{"given":"Sakiko","family":"Tanaka","sequence":"additional","affiliation":[],"role":[{"role":"author","vocabulary":"crossref"}]},{"given":"Bunsuke","family":"Kawasaki","sequence":"additional","affiliation":[],"role":[{"role":"author","vocabulary":"crossref"}]},{"given":"Chisa","family":"Mitsuhashi","sequence":"additional","affiliation":[],"role":[{"role":"author","vocabulary":"crossref"}]},{"given":"Yun Suen","family":"Pai","sequence":"additional","affiliation":[],"role":[{"role":"author","vocabulary":"crossref"}]},{"given":"Kouta","family":"Minamizawa","sequence":"additional","affiliation":[],"role":[{"role":"author","vocabulary":"crossref"}]}],"member":"297","published-online":{"date-parts":[[2022,5,20]]},"reference":[{"issue":"5","key":"35_CR1","doi-asserted-by":"publisher","first-page":"1183","DOI":"10.1542\/peds.2007-2361","volume":"120","author":"CP Johnson","year":"2007","unstructured":"Johnson, C.P., Myers, S.M.: Identification and evaluation of children with autism spectrum disorders.
