Yoga, as a holistic practice, holds significant promise in cultivating these attributes. Through the integration of physical postures (asanas), breath control (pranayama), meditation (dhyana), and mindfulness, yoga offers a multifaceted approach to enhancing PsyCap. However, despite its promise, the existing literature often lacks a thorough theoretical integration with well-established psychological models, limiting its potential impact and application. To fully leverage yoga\u2019s benefits in PsyCap development, a deeper understanding of the mechanisms by which yoga influences these key psychological traits is needed. Yoga can influence hope by promoting mindfulness and future-focused intention-setting. Mindfulness-based yoga practices enable practitioners to detach from limiting beliefs and embrace a sense of agency over their future, an essential component of hope theory (Snyder, 2002). As individuals cultivate awareness of their thoughts and emotions through yoga, they develop the skills necessary to reframe challenges, thus enhancing their ability to generate pathways toward goal achievement. In terms of efficacy, yoga provides a series of mastery experiences that boost self-confidence. The physical discipline involved in yoga, such as holding postures and mastering breathing techniques, fosters a sense of accomplishment and competence. These experiences directly align with Kenneth Cole, Anne Daly, Anita Mak \u201cGood for the soul\u201d (2009), where mastery experiences are fundamental to building self-efficacy. By improving bodily awareness and control, yoga cultivates an internal sense of competence that extends beyond the yoga mat, supporting individuals\u2019 belief in their ability to succeed in diverse life domains.Resilience is another PsyCap outcome that yoga significantly enhances. Resilience, in the context of PsyCap, refers to the ability to adapt positively to adversity. Yoga\u2019s emphasis on breath regulation and mindfulness teaches individuals how to maintain emotional equilibrium in stressful situations. This emotional regulation helps to buffer the negative effects of stress, promoting psychological flexibility and the capacity to recover from setbacks. The attentional control developed through meditation and focused practice is crucial here\u2014research has shown that yoga enhances the ability to shift attention away from negative stimuli and toward more positive, solution-focused thoughts. As a result, practitioners become better equipped to handle challenges with equanimity, reinforcing their sense of resilience. Finally, optimism is cultivated through yoga\u2019s capacity to connect individuals to their deeper, more transcendent sense of self. By integrating practices like meditation and breath control, yoga fosters a sense of inner peace and trust in the process of life, contributing to an optimistic outlook. The practice encourages acceptance of the present moment, while simultaneously cultivating a belief in positive future outcomes\u2014a key tenet of positive psychology and an essential element of optimism. By reducing rumination and promoting a growth mindset, yoga helps individuals to view setbacks as temporary and surmountable, which increases their overall optimism. By advancing this research agenda, scholars and practitioners can better understand the full potential of yoga as an intervention for psychological resilience, mental well-being, and professional effectiveness.
