This paper analyzes the IPSAMOOC project, which offers an introductory cluster of seven political science courses, delivered on Coursera and edX. Using survey responses, the study aims at examining profiles of engaged learners, their experience with the courses, their motivation for participation, and their overall perception of the potential impact of political science education through MOOCs. The results confirm a growing international interest in the field and a high level of awareness among the involved learners. Indeed, MOOCs are identified as an effective tool to address widespread training demands, supporting academic and professional growth, and as a tool for expanding access to Political science education, especially in underserved regions such as the Global South, and supporting global SDGs. In this regard, MOOCs appear to be a valuable hub for political science university initiatives to achieve learning and civic goals and widen the disciplinary dissemination impact.<\/jats:p>","DOI":"10.1007\/978-3-032-00056-9_14","type":"book-chapter","created":{"date-parts":[[2025,9,30]],"date-time":"2025-09-30T22:26:34Z","timestamp":1759271194000},"page":"158-167","update-policy":"https:\/\/doi.org\/10.1007\/springer_crossmark_policy","source":"Crossref","is-referenced-by-count":0,"title":["Bridging Knowledge Gaps: The Potential of MOOCs for Political Science Education"],"prefix":"10.1007","author":[{"ORCID":"https:\/\/orcid.org\/0000-0002-8556-9057","authenticated-orcid":false,"given":"Valentina","family":"Reda","sequence":"first","affiliation":[]},{"ORCID":"https:\/\/orcid.org\/0009-0003-8383-1060","authenticated-orcid":false,"given":"Annalisa","family":"Squillante","sequence":"additional","affiliation":[]}],"member":"297","published-online":{"date-parts":[[2025,10,1]]},"reference":[{"doi-asserted-by":"publisher","unstructured":"Mair\u00e9ad Pratschke, B.: Generative AI and Education.
