Previous studies of retrospectives have focused on process and outcome at team level. In this article, we study how a large-scale agile development project uses retrospectives through an analysis of retrospective reports identifying a total of 109 issues and 36 action items as a part of a longitudinal case study. We find that most of the issues identified relate to team-level learning and improvement, and discuss these findings in relation to current advice to improve learning outcome in large-scale agile development.\n<\/jats:p>","DOI":"10.1007\/978-3-319-91602-6_13","type":"book-chapter","created":{"date-parts":[[2018,5,16]],"date-time":"2018-05-16T13:13:43Z","timestamp":1526476423000},"page":"191-198","update-policy":"https:\/\/doi.org\/10.1007\/springer_crossmark_policy","source":"Crossref","is-referenced-by-count":12,"title":["Learning in the Large - An Exploratory Study of Retrospectives in Large-Scale Agile Development"],"prefix":"10.1007","author":[{"given":"Torgeir","family":"Dings\u00f8yr","sequence":"first","affiliation":[],"role":[{"role":"author","vocabulary":"crossref"}]},{"given":"Marius","family":"Mikalsen","sequence":"additional","affiliation":[],"role":[{"role":"author","vocabulary":"crossref"}]},{"given":"Anniken","family":"Solem","sequence":"additional","affiliation":[],"role":[{"role":"author","vocabulary":"crossref"}]},{"given":"Kathrine","family":"Vestues","sequence":"additional","affiliation":[],"role":[{"role":"author","vocabulary":"crossref"}]}],"member":"297","published-online":{"date-parts":[[2018,5,17]]},"reference":[{"key":"13_CR1","unstructured":"Project Management Institute and Agile Allience: Agile Practice Guide: Project Management Institute (2017)"},{"key":"13_CR2","unstructured":"Kniberg, H.: Scrum and XP from the Trenches, 2nd edn.
