While evaluation of the ecosystem service value is conducive to integrating urban functions and green space, a lack of human-nature interactions leads to neglect in knowledge and assessment of the social value of urban parks. In this study, Visitor Employed Photography (VEP) and the Social Value of Ecosystem Services (SolVES) model were utilized to connect visitors’ immediate perceptions with landscape elements, subjective will, and the geographical environment. This approach aimed to assess the social value of parks and quantify the public’s preferences in landscape layout. The results compare the relative importance of nine social values and verify that different environmental variables affect types of value indices. It is observed that the public is particularly aware of the social value generated by good planting and landscaping, as well as by proximity to water. In addition, the type of environmental landscape also has a crucial impact on perceptions. Bodies of water, characteristic landscapes, and well-maintained convenient roads emerge as key elements in people’s landscape preferences. The conclusions drawn from this study provide useful information for park management and landscape planning, particularly from the perspective of social value growth.
