Derzeit wird sie fast ausschlie\u00dflich von direkt angebundenen Synchrongeneratoren aufgebracht, deren tr\u00e4ge rotierende Schwungmasse sich Drehzahl\u00e4nderungen widersetzt und dadurch Frequenzgradienten nach Ungleichgewichten zwischen Einspeisung elektrischer Leistung ins und Entnahme elektrischer Leistung aus dem Netz begrenzt. Es steht zu erwarten, dass die f\u00fcr das Verbundsystem verf\u00fcgbare Schwungmasse im Zuge der steigenden Verbreitung von \u00fcber Leistungselektronik angeschlossenen Einspeiseanlagen zuk\u00fcnftig abnehmen wird. Die daraus resultierenden h\u00f6heren Frequenzgradienten stellen eine Gef\u00e4hrdung der Frequenzstabilit\u00e4t des Verbundsystems dar. Inertia Certificates sind eine M\u00f6glichkeit, den Beitrag von Erzeugungsanlagen zur Bereitstellung von Momentanreserve im Verbundsystem zu quantifizieren und der Momentanreserve einen Preis zuzuordnen, der ihrem Wert f\u00fcr den Systembetrieb entspricht. Sie erm\u00f6glichen einen fairen Ausgleich zwischen jenen Anlagen, die aufgrund ihrer physikalischen Wirkungsweise inh\u00e4rent Momentanreserve bereitstellen, und solchen, die prinzipbedingt keine oder nur eine geringe Schwungmasse aufweisen.
