Gewisse Emissionen der Industrie, Energieerzeugung sowie diffuse Emissionen aus der Landwirtschaft, der Deponierung von Abf\u00e4llen und fluorierte Gase (F-Gase) k\u00f6nnen jedoch nicht vollst\u00e4ndig vermieden werden. Carbon Capture and Utilization (CCU) und Carbon Capture and Storage (CCS) werden daher als wesentliche Komponenten zur Erreichung der Klimaziele angesehen. Um das Potenzial von CCU- und CCS-Aktivit\u00e4ten f\u00fcr die langfristigen Klimaziele zu beurteilen und geeignete Carbon Management-Strategien zu identifizieren, ist eine Bewertung dieser Technologien insbesondere in \u00d6sterreich erforderlich, wo bisher kaum umfassende Studien dazu durchgef\u00fchrt worden sind.<\/jats:p><jats:p>Diese Arbeit umfasst eine ganzheitliche Analyse relevanter CO<jats:sub>2<\/jats:sub>-Punktquellen in \u00d6sterreich und deren prognostizierte Entwicklung bis 2050 anhand technologiebasierter Szenarien. Die geologische Speicherung von CO<jats:sub>2<\/jats:sub> ist vorwiegend in ehemaligen Kohlenwasser-Stofflagerst\u00e4tten m\u00f6glich. Bedarfe f\u00fcr CO<jats:sub>2<\/jats:sub> als Rohstoff werden zuk\u00fcnftig in der chemischen sowie petrochemischen Industrie bestehen.<\/jats:p><jats:p>Bis 2050 wird \u00d6sterreichs Industrie j\u00e4hrlich etwa vier Millionen Tonnen (Mt) an unvermeidbarem CO<jats:sub>2<\/jats:sub> emittieren. Diese Emissionen m\u00fcssen langfristig gespeichert werden und entsprechen somit dem Mindestbedarf an Carbon Capture and Storage (CCS). Diffuse Restemissionen aus der Landwirtschaft, der Deponierung von Abf\u00e4llen und fluorierte Treibhausgase sind nicht f\u00fcr CCU\/S-Ma\u00dfnahmen geeignet.
