Participate in a 20-minute survey (including an interactive story that takes about 8 minutes) about the interactive story played previously. 2. No information collected will connect respondents\u2019 identity with responses, unless an email address is willingly provided. 3. No direct benefits, but the results of this study may help provide a better understanding of what makes an interactive story interesting to users. 4. This survey is one directional, meaning once you go forward you cannot go back and change your answers.\n Purpose of the research study:\n Interactive storytelling has long captivated audiences. Dungeons & Dragons, a timeless example of open-ended interactive storytelling, has embraced the digital realm, with platforms such as AI Dungeon employing large-language models to enhance the experience. Other mediums such as video games have also gained significant popularity in recent years. This paper explores ways to create interactive stories by following the process of creation of interactive stories and the respective Twine code to publish as a game. A survey will accompany the published game to study the qualitative traits of the story and user perception. Therefore, the purpose of this proposed project is to understand what makes an interactive story interesting to users.\n What you will do in the study:\n Taking part in this study involves completing an interactive story game that takes between 10 to 20 minutes and then completing a web survey that will take about 10 minutes. This survey contains questions about participants\u2019 opinions regarding certain characteristics of the story. Participants are required to answer all questions.\n Time required:\n The study will require between 20 to 30 minutes.\n Risks:\n There are no anticipated risks in this study.\n Benefits:\n There are no direct benefits to you for participating in this research study. The survey results will help us have a better understanding of what makes an interactive story attractive to users. We will share our results to the entire research community and industry to provide deeper insights into creating interactive stories. Both participants and non-participants may benefit from the results.\n Confidentiality:\n The survey does not collect any identifying information, unless an email address is willingly provided. We will configure the survey tool not to track IP addresses, and we will not ask the participants to provide their names. Therefore, the data will be anonymous from the time of collection.\n Voluntary participation:\n Your participation in this study is completely voluntary.\n Right to withdraw from the study:\n You have the right to withdraw from the study at any time without penalty.\n How to withdraw from the study:\n If you want to withdraw from the study, please close the survey website from your device. There is no penalty for withdrawing. We cannot withdraw your material after you submit your survey because our data collection process is anonymous.\n Compensation\/Reimbursement:\n You will receive no payment for participating in this study.
