Bornmann et al. (Do disruption index indicators measure what they propose to measure? The comparison of several indicator variants with assessments by peers, 2019. <jats:ext-link xmlns:xlink=\"http:\/\/www.w3.org\/1999\/xlink\" ext-link-type=\"uri\" xlink:href=\"https:\/\/arxiv.org\/abs\/1911.08775\">https:\/\/arxiv.org\/abs\/1911.08775<\/jats:ext-link>) compared variants of the disruption index and pointed to <jats:inline-formula><jats:alternatives><jats:tex-math>$${DI}_{5}$$<\/jats:tex-math><mml:math xmlns:mml=\"http:\/\/www.w3.org\/1998\/Math\/MathML\"><mml:msub><mml:mrow><mml:mi>DI<\/mml:mi><\/mml:mrow><mml:mn>5<\/mml:mn><\/mml:msub><\/mml:math><\/jats:alternatives><\/jats:inline-formula> as an interesting variant. The calculation of a field-specific version of <jats:inline-formula><jats:alternatives><jats:tex-math>$${DI}_{5}$$<\/jats:tex-math><mml:math xmlns:mml=\"http:\/\/www.w3.org\/1998\/Math\/MathML\"><mml:msub><mml:mrow><mml:mi>DI<\/mml:mi><\/mml:mrow><mml:mn>5<\/mml:mn><\/mml:msub><\/mml:math><\/jats:alternatives><\/jats:inline-formula> (focusing on disruptiveness within the same field) for <jats:italic>Scientometrics<\/jats:italic> papers in the current study reveals that the variant is possibly able to identify landmark papers in scientometrics.
