Klare Entscheidungen und wirksame Ma\u00dfnahmen sind unmittelbar erforderlich. Jedoch sind die Wirkungszusammenh\u00e4nge oftmals global, komplex und schwer nachzuweisen und daher Wirkungen von Ma\u00dfnahmen nur mit gro\u00dfer Unsicherheit zu prognostizieren. \u00d6ffentliche Debatten und politische Akteure ben\u00f6tigen daher mehr denn je belastbare Daten und verl\u00e4ssliche Methoden. Nur so l\u00e4sst sich verwirklichen, was notwendig ist.<\/jats:p>\n                  <jats:p>Dieser Artikel beschreibt den aktuellen Wissensstand und zentrale Methoden in f\u00fcnf wesentlichen Bereichen der Umweltstatistik. Wie lassen sich die Leistungen der \u00d6kosysteme f\u00fcr den Menschen quantifizieren? Wie wirken Umweltfaktoren auf die Gesundheit? Was beeinflusst die Akzeptanz von Umweltma\u00dfnahmen? Wie lassen sich Wege zur Eind\u00e4mmung des Klimawandels evidenzbasiert entwickeln und bewerten? Und welche Daten m\u00fcssen f\u00fcr die genannten Fragestellungen erhoben und verkn\u00fcpft werden?<\/jats:p>\n                  <jats:p>Mit Expertisen aus unterschiedlichen Fachgebieten der Umweltstatistik wie Umweltepidemiologie, Umwelthandeln, \u00d6kosysteme und Klimawandel liefert dieser Beitrag den wissenschaftlichen Kontext f\u00fcr aktuelle Entwicklungen und dr\u00e4ngende Entscheidungen. Relevante Evidenz f\u00fcr den \u00f6ffentlichen Diskurs und die politische Meinungsbildung basiert dabei auf verl\u00e4sslichen Daten und effizienten statistischen Methoden. Hier werden durchaus Bedarfe und Potenzial f\u00fcr Verbesserungen gesehen.
