The incorporation of radioactive acetate into prostaglandins, polar lipids and neutral lipids was followed as function of acetate concentration and time. Of the fractions mentioned, ca. 10% of the label was found in PGEs. Among the PGEs, PGE<jats:sub>1<\/jats:sub> and PGE<jats:sub>2<\/jats:sub> account for 48.6 and 43.4% of the radioactive label.
