The cross-check of CO<jats:sub>2<\/jats:sub>-rich fluid inclusions barometry from lavas and tephras erupted during the last 20\u00a0ka with the sources of seismicity of the last 22\u00a0years traced the deepest magma accumulation zone at a regional scale. These zones are considered to represent the boundary between the dense rocks of magma systems and the lithospheric mantle. This boundary is at a depth range of\u2009~\u200917 to 20\u00a0km beneath the islands close to the Mid-Atlantic Ridge, which are younger than 500\u00a0ka, and up to\u2009~\u200929.4\u00a0km beneath the eastern island of S. Miguel, younger than 800\u00a0ka and the nearby Dom Jo\u00e3o de Castro Seamount and the Hirondelle Basin. The same method has been applied to the\u2009~\u20092\u00a0Ma-old volcanic products of Flores, the\u2009~\u20091.9\u00a0Ma old S. Jorge and the 5\u00a0Ma-old lavas of Santa Maria. Results revealed a depth of\u2009~\u200930.5\u00a0km beneath the Flores and\u2009~\u200926\u00a0km beneath the\u2009~\u20091.9\u00a0Ma-old S. Jorge. These two islands are west and east of the Mid-Atlantic Ridge, within 200\u00a0km. Finally, the crust-mantle transition has been found below Santa Maria, the easternmost island,\u2009~\u2009500\u00a0km away from the Mid-Atlantic Ridge at a depth of\u2009~\u200933\u00a0km.
