Natl. Acad. Sci. USA (1982) 79, 5818] its 5\u2032\u2010end to be represented by two variants which differed in length. We have tested that result and sequenced the 5\u2032\u2010terminal regions of two strains of TMV RNA (common strain OM and tomato strain L) using cloned cDNA copies.
