The level of RNAs containing B2 sequences was found to be higher in both the proliferative state of normal cells and in polyomavirus\u2010transformed cells. In both systems, nuclear run\u2010off transcription assays indicated that high levels of B2 RNAs are due to an enhanced transcription rate.
