Formation of the MetJ: SAM: DNA ternary complex is significantly more exothermic (\u0394<jats:italic>H<\/jats:italic> \u22cd \u221299 kJ\u00b7mol<jats:sup>\u22121<\/jats:sup>) than either MetJ:DNA or MetJ:SAM binary complexes alone (\u0394<jats:italic>H<\/jats:italic> \u22cd \u221210 kJ\u00b7mol<jats:sup>\u22121<\/jats:sup> each). The protein is also significantly more stable to unfolding (\u0394<jats:italic>T<\/jats:italic>\n<jats:sub>m<\/jats:sub> \u22cd 5.4\u00b0C) when bound to DNA.
