The activation reached to 70% of that by p47<jats:sup>phox<\/jats:sup>. Addition of p47<jats:sup>phox<\/jats:sup> slightly increased the activation, but not additively. p40<jats:sup>phox<\/jats:sup> improved the efficiency of p67<jats:sup>phox<\/jats:sup> in the activation. The C\u2010terminus\u2010truncated p67<jats:sup>phox<\/jats:sup>, p40<jats:sup>phox<\/jats:sup>(D289A), p40<jats:sup>phox<\/jats:sup>(R58A), or p40<jats:sup>phox<\/jats:sup>(W207R) showed an impaired activation. A peptide corresponding to the p22<jats:sup>phox<\/jats:sup> Pro\u2010rich region suppressed the activation, and far\u2010western blotting revealed its interaction with p40<jats:sup>phox<\/jats:sup> SH3 domain.
