Chimeric CB<jats:sub>1<\/jats:sub>\/CB<jats:sub>2<\/jats:sub> receptors were used as a model to study receptor\u2013G<jats:sub>\u03b116<\/jats:sub> interaction. Sequences of the second and third intracellular loops and the carboxy\u2010terminus were substituted from the CB<jats:sub>1<\/jats:sub> into the CB<jats:sub>2<\/jats:sub> receptor. Only the triple mutant with all three regions replaced activated phospholipase C to a similar extent as the CB<jats:sub>1<\/jats:sub> receptor, suggesting that all three intracellular regions are required for interacting with G<jats:sub>\u03b116<\/jats:sub>.
