Here, we show that an electrophoretically homogenous laccase preparation from the white rot fungus <jats:italic>Trametes versicolor<\/jats:italic> oxidized Mn<jats:sup>2+<\/jats:sup> to Mn<jats:sup>3+<\/jats:sup> in the presence of Na\u2010pyrophosphate, with a <jats:italic>K<\/jats:italic>\n<jats:sub>m<\/jats:sub> value of 186 \u03bcM and a <jats:italic>V<\/jats:italic>\n<jats:sub>max<\/jats:sub> value of 0.11 \u03bcmol\/min\/mg protein at the optimal pH (5.0) and a Na\u2010pyrophosphate concentration of 100 mM.
