The psychotic disorders occurring in epilepsy are classified according to their chronological relationship with the seizures. The peri-ictal psychoses occur before (pre-ictal), during (ictal) or after (postictal) the emergence of a seizure. Inter-ictal psychoses occur independently of seizures.
