A teleoperated robotic system which strives towards this goal is described by way of illustration. The fundamentals that have helped to achieve this are: design and build from a task centred viewpoint, careful design of the Human Computer Interface(HCI) and special consideration for the systems integration task.<\/jats:p>","DOI":"10.1017\/s0263574700019871","type":"journal-article","created":{"date-parts":[[2009,3,10]],"date-time":"2009-03-10T09:09:54Z","timestamp":1236676194000},"page":"457-461","source":"Crossref","is-referenced-by-count":2,"title":["Technical Note: Advanced teleoperation testbed\u2014A system you can see through"],"prefix":"10.1017","volume":"14","author":[{"given":"David","family":"Hopper","sequence":"first","affiliation":[],"role":[{"role":"author","vocabulary":"crossref"}]},{"given":"Cliff","family":"Boddy","sequence":"additional","affiliation":[],"role":[{"role":"author","vocabulary":"crossref"}]},{"given":"Dennis","family":"Reilly","sequence":"additional","affiliation":[],"role":[{"role":"author","vocabulary":"crossref"}]}],"member":"56","published-online":{"date-parts":[[2009,3,9]]},"reference":[{"key":"S0263574700019871_ref005","doi-asserted-by":"publisher","DOI":"10.1017\/S0263574700010663"},{"key":"S0263574700019871_ref004","first-page":"1","volume-title":"Emerging Technologies in Advanced Robotics","author":"Brown","year":"1994"},{"key":"S0263574700019871_ref003","volume-title":"Robot Motion Planning","author":"Latombe","year":"1990"},{"key":"S0263574700019871_ref002","first-page":"382","volume-title":"IEEE Robotics and Automation","author":"Boddy","year":"1993"},{"key":"S0263574700019871_ref001","unstructured":"1.
