SIGMAN \nhas organized a series of these workshops that highlight significant \nadvances in academic research and industrial practice. New manufacturing \nconcepts such as agile\/lean manufacturing and virtual manufacturing \nplace increasing emphasis on the need for more intelligent manufacturing \nsystems. It is no longer a question of whether artificial intelligence (AI) \ntechnologies will have an impact on manufacturing but one of better \nunderstanding and exploiting the broad potential of AI in this domain.<\/jats:p>","DOI":"10.1017\/s0890060403173015","type":"journal-article","created":{"date-parts":[[2004,1,22]],"date-time":"2004-01-22T22:12:04Z","timestamp":1074809524000},"page":"171-171","source":"Crossref","is-referenced-by-count":2,"title":["Special Issue: New artificial intelligence paradigms for \nmanufacturing"],"prefix":"10.1017","volume":"17","author":[{"given":"DANIEL M.","family":"GAINES","sequence":"first","affiliation":[],"role":[{"role":"author","vocabulary":"crossref"}]},{"given":"WILLIAM C.","family":"REGLI","sequence":"additional","affiliation":[],"role":[{"role":"author","vocabulary":"crossref"}]}],"member":"56","published-online":{"date-parts":[[2004,2,12]]},"container-title":["Artificial Intelligence for Engineering Design, Analysis and Manufacturing"],"original-title":[],"language":"en","link":[{"URL":"https:\/\/www.cambridge.org\/core\/services\/aop-cambridge-core\/content\/view\/S0890060403173015","content-type":"unspecified","content-version":"vor","intended-application":"similarity-checking"}],"deposited":{"date-parts":[[2019,3,29]],"date-time":"2019-03-29T18:56:39Z","timestamp":1553885799000},"score":1,"resource":{"primary":{"URL":"https:\/\/www.cambridge.org\/core\/product\/identifier\/S0890060403173015\/type\/journal_article"}},"subtitle":[],"short-title":[],"issued":{"date-parts":[[2003,8]]},"references-count":0,"journal-issue":{"issue":"3","published-print":{"date-parts":[[2003,8]]}},"alternative-id":["S0890060403173015"],"URL":"https:\/\/doi.org\/10.1017\/s0890060403173015","relation":{},"ISSN":["0890-0604","1469-1760"],"issn-type":[{"value":"0890-0604","type":"print"},{"value":"1469-1760","type":"electronic"}],"subject":[],"published":{"date-parts":[[2003,8]]}}}
