Prog."],"published-print":{"date-parts":[[1997,1]]},"abstract":"<jats:p>The purpose of this paper is to demonstrate that first-order functional \nprograms can be \ntransformed into intensional programs of nullary variables, in a semantics \npreserving way. On \nthe foundational side, the goal of our study is to bring new insights and a \nbetter understanding \nof the nature of functional languages.
