It is easy to see that, in this case,$G(X)$<\/jats:tex-math><\/jats:alternatives><\/jats:inline-formula>contains subsemigroups that are not groups, but nothing is known about nongroup maximal subsemigroups of$G(X)$<\/jats:tex-math><\/jats:alternatives><\/jats:inline-formula>.
