Under the hypothesis of a positive shock in the proportion of high-skilled labor, the technological-knowledge bias channel leads to unbalanced sectoral growth with a noticeable shift of resources across sectors. A calibration exercise suggests that the model is able to account for up to from 50 to about 100 percent of the increase in the share of the high-tech sector observed in the data from 1995 to 2007. However, the model predicts that the dynamics of the share of the high-tech sector has no significant impact on the dynamics of the economic growth rate.<\/jats:p>","DOI":"10.1017\/s1365100515000152","type":"journal-article","created":{"date-parts":[[2016,4,13]],"date-time":"2016-04-13T05:39:32Z","timestamp":1460525972000},"page":"1906-1923","source":"Crossref","is-referenced-by-count":4,"title":["A NOTE ON SKILL-STRUCTURE SHOCKS, THE SHARE OF THE HIGH-TECH SECTOR, AND ECONOMIC GROWTH DYNAMICS"],"prefix":"10.1017","volume":"20","author":[{"given":"Pedro Mazeda","family":"Gil","sequence":"first","affiliation":[]},{"given":"Oscar","family":"Afonso","sequence":"additional","affiliation":[]},{"given":"Paulo B.","family":"Vasconcelos","sequence":"additional","affiliation":[]}],"member":"56","published-online":{"date-parts":[[2016,4,13]]},"reference":[{"key":"S1365100515000152_ref10","doi-asserted-by":"publisher","DOI":"10.1017\/S1365100512000181"},{"key":"S1365100515000152_ref7","unstructured":"European Commission (2010) Europe 2020\u2014A Strategy for Smart, Sustainable and Inclusive Growth.
