Lin\u2019s concordance correlation coefficient (CCC) and the weighted Kappa coefficient were used to assess the agreement among the BMI standard\/references. The relative risk (RR) of being overweight at 9\u00b75\u201313\u00b75 years, based on an increase in BMI-GC (amplitude \u2265 0\u00b767) between 3\u00b75\u20136 years and 6\u00b75\u20139 years, was calculated, with estimates adjusted for sex, ethnicity and socio-economic status.<\/jats:p>\n\t  <\/jats:sec>\n\t  <jats:sec id=\"S136898002510089X_as3\">\n\t    <jats:title>Setting:<\/jats:title>\n\t    <jats:p>Ethiopia, India, Portugal, Vietnam and United Kingdom.<\/jats:p>\n\t  <\/jats:sec>\n\t  <jats:sec id=\"S136898002510089X_as4\">\n\t    <jats:title>Participants:<\/jats:title>\n\t    <jats:p>Totally, 12 624 participants from the MCS, YL and G21 studies.<\/jats:p>\n\t  <\/jats:sec>\n\t  <jats:sec id=\"S136898002510089X_as5\">\n\t    <jats:title>Results:<\/jats:title>\n\t    <jats:p>The prevalence of overweight across the three ages groups was higher when using the WHO standard\/reference (12\u00b78\u201325\u00b79 %) compared with the MULT (17\u00b71\u201322\u00b79 %) and IOTF (13\u00b70\u201319\u00b73 %) references. However, substantial agreement (0\u00b795 &lt; CCC \u2264 0\u00b799) was found among these standard\/references. Children who increased their BMI-GC by \u2265 0\u00b767 and &lt; 0\u00b786 were more likely to be overweight at 9\u00b75\u201313\u00b75 years (MULT-RR = 2\u00b749, 95 % CI: 2\u00b700, 3\u00b709\/ WHO-RR = 2\u00b747, 95 % CI: 1\u00b796, 3\u00b712\/ IOTF-RR = 2\u00b731, 95 % CI: 1\u00b782, 2\u00b793), compared with those who have stayed in their BMI-GC.<\/jats:p>\n\t  <\/jats:sec>\n\t  <jats:sec id=\"S136898002510089X_as6\">\n\t    <jats:title>Conclusions:<\/jats:title>\n\t    <jats:p>A change in the BMI-GC among normal-weight children during childhood was associated with a significantly higher risk of being overweight at 9\u00b75\u201313\u00b75 years.
