Regular intake of hyperlipidic diet and obesity can induce endothelial dysfunction that precedes the onset of atherosclerosis and CVD. High-fat diet regular consumption leads to structural modifications in heart tissue, and changes in the expression of angiogenic factors and their specific receptors.
