This research examines the role of brokers, the key network actors straddling between misleading and true\/regular information groups. Content-wise, morality expressions are examined, which signal social media users\u2019 expressions toward what is right and wrong. This research provides insights into the understudied relationship between network brokerage and moral expressions and identifies connections between moral foundation and network brokerage theories. Findings suggest that binding morality (i.e., authority and loyalty) is dominant among network brokers. Practical strategies are suggested toward potentially harnessing the power of brokers and moral framing to help combat the spread of misleading information. <\/jats:p>","DOI":"10.1027\/1864-1105\/a000482","type":"journal-article","created":{"date-parts":[[2025,7,18]],"date-time":"2025-07-18T08:06:46Z","timestamp":1752826006000},"page":"323-332","source":"Crossref","is-referenced-by-count":1,"title":["Straddling the Boundary of Misleading Information Group"],"prefix":"10.1027","volume":"37","author":[{"ORCID":"https:\/\/orcid.org\/0000-0002-3730-5743","authenticated-orcid":true,"given":"Yiqi","family":"Li","sequence":"first","affiliation":[{"name":"School of Information Studies, Syracuse University, USA"}],"role":[{"role":"author","vocabulary":"crossref"}]},{"given":"Marina","family":"Mitiaeva","sequence":"additional","affiliation":[{"name":"School of Information Studies, Syracuse University, USA"}],"role":[{"role":"author","vocabulary":"crossref"}]},{"ORCID":"https:\/\/orcid.org\/0009-0000-5983-5676","authenticated-orcid":true,"given":"Ximeng","family":"Deng","sequence":"additional","affiliation":[{"name":"School of Information Studies, Syracuse University, USA"}],"role":[{"role":"author","vocabulary":"crossref"}]},{"ORCID":"https:\/\/orcid.org\/0009-0002-2044-6395","authenticated-orcid":true,"given":"Una","family":"Joh","sequence":"additional","affiliation":[{"name":"School of Information Studies, Syracuse University, USA"}],"role":[{"role":"author","vocabulary":"crossref"}]},{"ORCID":"https:\/\/orcid.org\/0000-0003-0572-3964","authenticated-orcid":true,"given":"Yafei","family":"Zhang","sequence":"additional","affiliation":[{"name":"Research Center of Journalism and Social Development, School of Journalism and Mass Communication, Renmin University, Beijing, PR China"}],"role":[{"role":"author","vocabulary":"crossref"}]}],"member":"101","reference":[{"key":"c1","doi-asserted-by":"publisher","DOI":"10.1177\/1094428119857469"},{"key":"c2","doi-asserted-by":"publisher","DOI":"10.1177\/19485506231162161"},{"key":"c3","doi-asserted-by":"publisher","DOI":"10.1037\/pspi0000222"},{"key":"c4","doi-asserted-by":"publisher","DOI":"10.1080\/10511431.2024.2432132"},{"key":"c5","doi-asserted-by":"publisher","DOI":"10.31234\/osf.io\/zgd29"},{"key":"c6","doi-asserted-by":"publisher","DOI":"10.1093\/oso\/9780199249145.001.0001"},{"key":"c7","doi-asserted-by":"publisher","DOI":"10.18637\/jss.v024.i06"},{"key":"c8","doi-asserted-by":"publisher","DOI":"10.1111\/1467-9558.00158"},{"key":"c9","doi-asserted-by":"publisher","DOI":"10.1007\/s10551-021-05016-7"},{"key":"c10","doi-asserted-by":"crossref","unstructured":"Farkas, J. & Schou, J.
