RMR values were calculated for the present dry conditions (RMR = 63) and past wet conditions (RMR = 52). For present\u2010day dry conditions, the rock mass has an in situ modulus of deformation (<jats:italic>E<\/jats:italic>*) of 21.1 GPa, cohesive strength (<jats:italic>C<\/jats:italic>*<jats:sub>0<\/jats:sub>) of 4.64 MPa, and tensile strength (<jats:italic>T<\/jats:italic>*<jats:sub>0<\/jats:sub>) of \u22120.24 MPa. These values were reduced by at most \u223c50% during previous water\u2010saturated conditions. The critical grain crushing pressure (<jats:italic>P<\/jats:italic>*) for dry conditions is 19.5 GPa, with an uncertainty of about an order of magnitude.
