Data of burned area, particulate matter with a diameter of 10 or 2.5\u00a0\u03bcm (\u03bcm) or less (PM<jats:sub>10<\/jats:sub>, PM<jats:sub>2.5<\/jats:sub>), carbon monoxide (CO), nitrogen dioxide (NO<jats:sub>2<\/jats:sub>), ozone (O<jats:sub>3<\/jats:sub>), temperature, relative humidity, wind speed, aerosol optical depth and mortality rates of Circulatory System Disease (CSD), Respiratory System Disease (RSD), Pneumonia (PNEU), Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease, and Asthma (ASMA), were used. Only the months of 2011\u20132020 wildfire season (June\u2013July\u2013August\u2013September\u2010October) with a burned area greater than 1,000\u00a0ha were considered. Principal component analysis was used on fire\u2010pollutant\u2010meteorological variables to create two indices called Pollutant\u2010Burning Interaction (PBI) and Atmospheric\u2010Pollutant Interaction (API). PBI was strongly correlated with the air pollutants and burned area while API was strongly correlated with temperature and relative humidity, and O<jats:sub>3<\/jats:sub>. Cluster analysis applied to PBI\u2010API divided the data into two Clusters. Cluster 1 included colder and wetter months and higher NO<jats:sub>2<\/jats:sub> concentration. Cluster 2 included warmer and dried months, and higher PM<jats:sub>10<\/jats:sub>, PM<jats:sub>2.5<\/jats:sub>, CO, and O<jats:sub>3<\/jats:sub> concentrations. The clusters were subjected to Principal Component Linear Regression to better understand the relationship between mortality and PBI\u2010API indices. Cluster 1 showed statistically significant (<jats:italic>p<\/jats:italic>\u2010value\u00a0&lt;\u00a00.05) correlation (<jats:italic>r<\/jats:italic>) between RSDxPBI (<jats:italic>r<\/jats:italic><jats:sub>RSD<\/jats:sub>\u00a0=\u00a00.58) and PNEUxPBI (<jats:italic>r<\/jats:italic><jats:sub>PNEU<\/jats:sub>\u00a0=\u00a00.67). Cluster 2 showed statistically significant correlations between RSDxPBI (<jats:italic>r<\/jats:italic><jats:sub>RSD<\/jats:sub>\u00a0=\u00a00.48), PNEUxPBI (<jats:italic>r<\/jats:italic><jats:sub>PNEU<\/jats:sub>\u00a0=\u00a00.47), COPDxPBI (<jats:italic>r<\/jats:italic><jats:sub>COPD<\/jats:sub>\u00a0=\u00a00.45), CSDxAPI (<jats:italic>r<\/jats:italic><jats:sub>CSD<\/jats:sub>\u00a0=\u00a00.70), RSDxAPI (<jats:italic>r<\/jats:italic><jats:sub>CSD<\/jats:sub>\u00a0=\u00a00.71), PNEUxAPI (<jats:italic>r<\/jats:italic><jats:sub>PNEU<\/jats:sub>\u00a0=\u00a00.49), and COPDxAPI (<jats:italic>r<\/jats:italic><jats:sub>PNEU<\/jats:sub>\u00a0=\u00a00.62). Cluster 2 analysis indicates that the warmest, driest, and most polluted months of the wildfire season were associated with cardio\u2010respiratory
