Because virtual care collapses the barriers of time and distance, it is ideal for providing care that is patient-centered, lower cost, more convenient and at greater productivity. All these factors make virtual care tools indispensable elements in the COVID19 response. In this perspective, we offer implementation guidance and policy insights relevant to the use of virtual care tools to meet the challenges of the COVID19 pandemic.<\/jats:p>","DOI":"10.1038\/s41746-020-0279-6","type":"journal-article","created":{"date-parts":[[2020,5,4]],"date-time":"2020-05-04T10:05:01Z","timestamp":1588586701000},"update-policy":"https:\/\/doi.org\/10.1007\/springer_crossmark_policy","source":"Crossref","is-referenced-by-count":60,"title":["A digital embrace to blunt the curve of COVID19 pandemic"],"prefix":"10.1038","volume":"3","author":[{"ORCID":"https:\/\/orcid.org\/0000-0003-0592-9145","authenticated-orcid":false,"given":"Lee H.","family":"Schwamm","sequence":"first","affiliation":[]},{"ORCID":"https:\/\/orcid.org\/0000-0003-0801-2471","authenticated-orcid":false,"given":"Alistair","family":"Erskine","sequence":"additional","affiliation":[]},{"given":"Adam","family":"Licurse","sequence":"additional","affiliation":[]}],"member":"297","published-online":{"date-parts":[[2020,5,4]]},"reference":[{"key":"279_CR1","doi-asserted-by":"publisher","first-page":"200","DOI":"10.1377\/hlthaff.2013.1021","volume":"33","author":"LH Schwamm","year":"2014","unstructured":"Schwamm, L.
