The rapid digitization of healthcare may widen health disparities if solutions are not developed with these determinants in mind. Our framework builds on the leading health disparities framework, incorporating a digital environment domain. We examine DDoHs at the individual, interpersonal, community, and societal levels, discuss the importance of a root cause, multi-level approach, and offer a pragmatic case study that applies our framework.<\/jats:p>","DOI":"10.1038\/s41746-022-00663-0","type":"journal-article","created":{"date-parts":[[2022,8,18]],"date-time":"2022-08-18T13:02:56Z","timestamp":1660827776000},"update-policy":"https:\/\/doi.org\/10.1007\/springer_crossmark_policy","source":"Crossref","is-referenced-by-count":521,"title":["A framework for digital health equity"],"prefix":"10.1038","volume":"5","author":[{"given":"Safiya","family":"Richardson","sequence":"first","affiliation":[],"role":[{"vocabulary":"crossref","role":"author"}]},{"ORCID":"https:\/\/orcid.org\/0000-0001-5640-2138","authenticated-orcid":false,"given":"Katharine","family":"Lawrence","sequence":"additional","affiliation":[],"role":[{"vocabulary":"crossref","role":"author"}]},{"given":"Antoinette M.","family":"Schoenthaler","sequence":"additional","affiliation":[],"role":[{"vocabulary":"crossref","role":"author"}]},{"ORCID":"https:\/\/orcid.org\/0000-0002-2099-0852","authenticated-orcid":false,"given":"Devin","family":"Mann","sequence":"additional","affiliation":[],"role":[{"vocabulary":"crossref","role":"author"}]}],"member":"297","published-online":{"date-parts":[[2022,8,18]]},"reference":[{"key":"663_CR1","doi-asserted-by":"publisher","first-page":"188","DOI":"10.1007\/BF02287461","volume":"28","author":"BD Smedly","year":"2001","unstructured":"Smedly, B.D. et al.
