Studies evidence their growing pragmatism and provision of objective data for a more informative and personalised approach to patient care. Yet many wearables are one dimensional, despite the underlying technology being common across a large array of tools. That is primarily due to the accompanying software, unmodifiable or black box-based scripts that generally lack accessibility or modification, meaning wearables may often get discarded. Use of wearables for sustainable healthcare needs careful consideration.<\/jats:p>","DOI":"10.1038\/s41746-023-00820-z","type":"journal-article","created":{"date-parts":[[2023,4,22]],"date-time":"2023-04-22T06:02:41Z","timestamp":1682143361000},"update-policy":"https:\/\/doi.org\/10.1007\/springer_crossmark_policy","source":"Crossref","is-referenced-by-count":23,"title":["Considerations for integrating wearables into the everyday healthcare practice"],"prefix":"10.1038","volume":"6","author":[{"ORCID":"https:\/\/orcid.org\/0000-0003-1233-5468","authenticated-orcid":false,"given":"Dylan","family":"Powell","sequence":"first","affiliation":[]},{"ORCID":"https:\/\/orcid.org\/0000-0003-4049-9291","authenticated-orcid":false,"given":"Alan","family":"Godfrey","sequence":"additional","affiliation":[]}],"member":"297","published-online":{"date-parts":[[2023,4,22]]},"reference":[{"key":"820_CR1","unstructured":"UK Government.
