{"status":"ok","message-type":"work","message-version":"1.0.0","message":{"indexed":{"date-parts":[[2024,9,9]],"date-time":"2024-09-09T21:52:58Z","timestamp":1725918778065},"reference-count":34,"publisher":"Wiley","issue":"6","license":[{"start":{"date-parts":[[2009,2,11]],"date-time":"2009-02-11T00:00:00Z","timestamp":1234310400000},"content-version":"vor","delay-in-days":3878,"URL":"http:\/\/onlinelibrary.wiley.com\/termsAndConditions#vor"}],"content-domain":{"domain":["bpspubs.onlinelibrary.wiley.com"],"crossmark-restriction":true},"short-container-title":["British J Pharmacology"],"published-print":{"date-parts":[[1998,7]]},"abstract":"<jats:p>\n<jats:list list-type=\"explicit-label\">\n<jats:list-item><jats:p>This investigation was undertaken to compare pre\u2010 and postjunctional receptors involved in the responses of the canine mesenteric and pulmonary arteries to angiotensin II.<\/jats:p><\/jats:list-item>\n<jats:list-item><jats:p>In the mesenteric artery, angiotensin II caused an enhancement of tritium overflow evoked by electrical stimulation (EC<jats:sub>30%<\/jats:sub> = 5 n<jats:sc>m<\/jats:sc>), the maximal effect representing an increase by about 45%. Postjunctionally, angiotensin II caused concentration\u2010dependent contractions (pD<jats:sub>2<\/jats:sub> = 8.57). Saralasin antagonized both pre\u2010 and postjunctional effects of angiotensin II, but it was more potent at post\u2010 than at prejunctional level (pA<jats:sub>2<\/jats:sub> of 9.51 and 8.15, respectively), while losartan antagonized exclusively the postjunctional effects of angiotensin II (pA<jats:sub>2<\/jats:sub> = 8.15). PD123319 had no antagonist effect either pre\u2010 or postjunctionally.<\/jats:p><\/jats:list-item>\n<jats:list-item><jats:p>In the pulmonary artery, angiotensin II also caused an enhancement of the electrically\u2010evoked tritium overflow (EC<jats:sub>30%<\/jats:sub> = 1.54 n<jats:sc>m<\/jats:sc>), its maximal effect increasing tritium overflow by about 80%. Postjunctionally, angiotensin II caused contractile responses (pD<jats:sub>2<\/jats:sub> = 8.52). As in the mesenteric artery, saralasin antagonized angiotensin II effects at both pre\u2010 and postjunctional level and it was more potent postjunctionally (pA<jats:sub>2<\/jats:sub> of 9.58 and 8.10, respectively).
