Micromolar concentrations of inositol 1,4,5-trisphosphate released Ca2+ within 1 min from store sites which had accumulated Ca2+ in the presence of 10 mM-NaN3. In the presence of 10 mM-NaN3, the Ca2+ accumulated in the presence of oxalate was seen in the endoplasmic reticulum of saponin-treated macrophages by electron microscopy, indicating that the site of Ca2+ released by inositol 1,4,5-trisphosphate may be endoplasmic reticulum-like membranes. When the concentrations of free Ca2+ were over 3.5 \u00d7 10(-6) M, the release of Ca2+ by this agent was inhibited. This inhibition may be due to either the higher concentration of extra-vesicular free Ca2+ or the larger accumulation of Ca2+ into the store site or perhaps both effects. MgCl2 also had an inhibitory effect on the Ca2+ release. Inositol 1,4,5-trisphosphate also released Ca2+ from cardiac sarcoplasmic reticulum, but not from erythrocyte inside-out vesicles.<\/jats:p>","DOI":"10.1042\/bj2230229","type":"journal-article","created":{"date-parts":[[2015,8,10]],"date-time":"2015-08-10T20:46:01Z","timestamp":1439239561000},"page":"229-236","update-policy":"https:\/\/doi.org\/10.1042\/crossmark_policy","source":"Crossref","is-referenced-by-count":116,"title":["Release of Ca2+ from a non-mitochondrial store site in peritoneal macrophages treated with saponin by inositol 1,4,5-trisphosphate"],"prefix":"10.1042","volume":"223","author":[{"given":"M","family":"Hirata","sequence":"first","affiliation":[],"role":[{"role":"author","vocabulary":"crossref"}]},{"given":"E","family":"Suematsu","sequence":"additional","affiliation":[],"role":[{"role":"author","vocabulary":"crossref"}]},{"given":"T","family":"Hashimoto","sequence":"additional","affiliation":[],"role":[{"role":"author","vocabulary":"crossref"}]},{"given":"T","family":"Hamachi","sequence":"additional","affiliation":[],"role":[{"role":"author","vocabulary":"crossref"}]},{"given":"T","family":"Koga","sequence":"additional","affiliation":[],"role":[{"role":"author","vocabulary":"crossref"}]}],"member":"288","container-title":["Biochemical Journal"],"original-title":[],"language":"en","link":[{"URL":"https:\/\/portlandpress.com\/biochemj\/article-pdf\/223\/1\/229\/582080\/bj2230229.pdf","content-type":"application\/pdf","content-version":"vor","intended-application":"syndication"},{"URL":"https:\/\/portlandpress.com\/biochemj\/article-pdf\/223\/1\/229\/582080\/bj2230229.pdf","content-type":"unspecified","content-version":"vor","intended-application":"similarity-checking"}],"deposited":{"date-parts":[[2021,11,25]],"date-time":"2021-11-25T14:44:51Z","timestamp":1637851491000},"score":1,"resource":{"primary":{"URL":"https:\/\/portlandpress.com\/biochemj\/article\/223\/1\/229\/19152\/Release-of-Ca2-from-a-non-mitochondrial-store-site"}},"subtitle":[],"short-title":[],"issued":{"date-parts":[[1984,10,1]]},"references-count":0,"journal-issue":{"issue":"1","published-print":{"date-parts":[[1984,10,1]]}},"URL":"https:\/\/doi.org\/10.1042\/bj2230229","relation":{},"ISSN":["0264-6021","1470-8728"],"issn-type":[{"value":"0264-6021","type":"print"},{"value":"1470-8728","type":"electronic"}],"subject":[],"published":{"date-parts":[[1984,10,1]]}}}
