Eur. Opt. Society-Rapid Publ."],"accepted":{"date-parts":[[2026,8,21]]},"abstract":"<jats:p>Multimodal imaging in biomedical optics offers robust tissue diagnostics. However, the increased requirements for flexible illumination due to sometimes overlapping specifications of two or more modalities limit the immediate availability of options to flexibly couple the same light source into different channels. This work presents two setups using incoherent and coherent sources for flexible light coupling into the individual cores of a fan-out fiber bundle. The setups use dichroic mirrors to combine the optical paths of each source into one and a rotatable mirror to control the coupling into each fiber core.
