Recent interest in this area has mainly been generated by the discovery that copper(I)-catalyzed azide\u2013alkyne cycloaddition (CuAAC) and ruthenium(II)-catalyzed azide\u2013alkyne cycloaddition (RuAAC) regioselectively afford 1,4- or 1,5-disubstituted 1,2,3-triazoles in high yields under mild conditions.
