{"status":"ok","message-type":"work","message-version":"1.0.0","message":{"indexed":{"date-parts":[[2026,2,19]],"date-time":"2026-02-19T18:36:33Z","timestamp":1771526193914,"version":"3.50.1"},"reference-count":60,"publisher":"AIP Publishing","issue":"1","content-domain":{"domain":["pubs.aip.org"],"crossmark-restriction":true},"short-container-title":[],"published-print":{"date-parts":[[2003,7,1]]},"abstract":"<jats:p>Ultrafast solvent dynamics of room-temperature ionic liquids have been investigated by optical heterodyne-detected Raman-induced Kerr-effect spectroscopy (OHD-RIKES) by studying the effects of cation and anion substitution on the low frequency librational modes. The spectra of two series of imidazolium salts are presented. The first series is based on the 1-butyl-3-methylimidazolium salts [bmim]+ containing the anions trifluoromethanesulfate [TfO]\u2212,\u2008bis(trifluoromethanesulfonyl)imide [Tf2N]\u2212, and hexafluorophosphate [PF6]\u2212. The second series is based on [Tf2N]\u2212 salts containing the three cations 1-butyl-2,3-dimethylimidazolium [bmmim]+, 1-methyl-3-octylimidazolium [omim]+, and [bmim]+.
