We find analytical solutions for the reflectance and transmittance of SPPs when only two modes (forward- and back-scattered) are considered. We show that in both cases, the reflectance spectrum presents stop-bands where the SPP is completely back-scattered, if the grating is not too shallow. In addition, the reflectance coefficient shows Fabry-P\u00e9rot oscillations when the frequency of the SPP is out of the stop-band region. For a single dielectric well, we show that there are frequencies of transmission equal to 1. We also provide a simple analytical expression for the different quantities in the electrostatic limit.<\/jats:p>","DOI":"10.1063\/1.5099060","type":"journal-article","created":{"date-parts":[[2019,6,26]],"date-time":"2019-06-26T12:58:11Z","timestamp":1561553891000},"update-policy":"https:\/\/doi.org\/10.1063\/aip-crossmark-policy-page","source":"Crossref","is-referenced-by-count":10,"title":["Propagation of surface plasmons on plasmonic Bragg gratings"],"prefix":"10.1063","volume":"125","author":[{"ORCID":"https:\/\/orcid.org\/0000-0003-1381-8568","authenticated-orcid":false,"given":"A.
