Yet, there is no agreed upon way of deciding\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\twhether some bit of form should be considered a proper part of a\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tstem allomorph or an independent exponent. We explore the\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tpossibility of just doing away with the notion of stem allomorphy in\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tinflection. We use computational methods to identify within each\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tword a sequence of strings that do not take part in any alternation\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\twithin that word\u2019s paradigm.
