Fictional storytelling and narrative\n                        comprehension tasks were administered in both languages, using the\n                        Multilingual Assessment Instrument for Narratives (<jats:xref>Gagarina et\u00a0al., 2012<\/jats:xref>). The comprehension scores\n                        were compared across the two languages and analyzed in relation to age,\n                        macrostructure production scores, language dominance, expressive vocabulary,\n                        and a composite measure of exposure to stories. The results showed\n                        significant age effects on comprehension and no differences between\n                        languages, irrespectively of language dominance. Significant correlations\n                        were found between comprehension and production scores, between\n                        comprehension scores in both languages and exposure to stories in French,\n                        and between comprehension and expressive vocabulary. The results suggest\n                        that story comprehension is invariant across languages, meaning that a\n                        bilingual child carries over narrative abilities across languages even when\n                        one language is less dominant than the other.
