Skottsb. (\n                    <jats:italic>Papilionaceae<\/jats:italic>\n                    ) is characterised by means of chromosome counts of accessions called Vi\u00f1a del Mar Botanical Garden (JBV), G\u00f6teborg (Got) and Titze. Karyotypes were obtained and genome size quantified using flow cytometry and compared to the closely related species\n                    <jats:italic>Sophora macrocarpa<\/jats:italic>\n                    J.E.Sm. and\n                    <jats:italic>Sophora cassioides<\/jats:italic>\n                    (Phil.) Sparre. No differences were detected in chromosome number of\n                    <jats:italic>Sophora<\/jats:italic>\n                    at intra\u2010specific or inter\u2010specific levels with 2\n                    <jats:italic>n<\/jats:italic>\n                    \u2009=\u20092\n                    <jats:italic>x<\/jats:italic>\n                    \u2009=\u200918. Analyses on the symmetry coefficients CV\n                    <jats:sub>cl<\/jats:sub>\n                    and M\n                    <jats:sub>ca<\/jats:sub>\n                    shows affinity between the analysed material of the Titze line. The graph clearly indicates differences between\n                    <jats:italic>S. toromiro<\/jats:italic>\n                    lines if compared with\n                    <jats:italic>S. cassioides<\/jats:italic>\n                    and\n                    <jats:italic>S. macrocarpa<\/jats:italic>\n                    . Genome size range from 788\u00a0Mbp for\n                    <jats:italic>S. cassioides,<\/jats:italic>\n                    795\u00a0Mbp\n                    <jats:italic>for S. macrocarpa<\/jats:italic>\n                    and a range of 796\u2013808\u00a0Mbp in\n                    <jats:italic>S. toromiro<\/jats:italic>\n                    . This is the first report of chromosome number and genome size for\n                    <jats:italic>S. toromiro, S. macrocarpa<\/jats:italic>\n                    and\n                    <jats:italic>S. cassioides<\/jats:italic>\n                    .
